Glögg So Hard!

Glögg is a traditional winter Scandinavian beverage. It is served at festive parties but also on many other occasions including birthdays, baby showers, Card Game Tournaments, Saturdays, or any other special occasion. As such, having the proper preparation and serving device is essential for anyone of Nordic Heritage; especially for one who also has Hispanic ancestry which necessitates strong traditions and large celebrations.

Historically Glögg was prepared out doors in a large metal vessle over an open flame. This stemmed from the mutal enjoyment of the winter weather, contrasting the warm drink to the crisp night air. Comradery and enjoyment are inevitable. In fact the modern turkey fryer is based on the original design of the Glögg vessle. Many “turkey fryers” for sale today are actually rebranded glögg containers imported from Nordicland.

Really the only thing to decide is when to purchase your own authentic Glögg container. Some people choose to wait until after their holiday party. This is a huge mistake since they are generally in better stock and therefore less expensive beforehand. After the season it can be difficult to find one at all, let alone at reasonable prices.

Some people also balk at the cost, but it is important to remember that this is a family heirloom which will be passed on for generations, even after you have used and enjoyed it hundreds of times each year.

Plus, that way you’ll have it.

This was part of a series on how to trick your wife into buying a turkey fryer. It was published in a simpler time before the world was brought to its knees by pervasive disinformation. It is completely, 100%, fabricated fever dream.
